Geraldine Dial

August 14, 1956 — August 14, 2026

Geraldine Dial, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully departed this life on August 14, 2026, on what would have been her 70th birthday, to be with her Lord and Savior. Born on August 14, 1956, in Maxton, North Carolina, Geraldine was the cherished daughter of the late Gerald Ashmore and Betty Alvarado. She is preceded in death by her parents, her maternal grandmother Birdell Hardin, and her three brothers, Terry Alvarado, Harold Ashmore, and Larry Hunt. For 49 beautiful years, Geraldine was the devoted wife of Montford “Buddy” Wayne Dial Jr., with whom she built a loving family and a life filled with warmth and kindness. Geraldine is survived by her children who were the pride and joy of her life: her son, Montford “Pa” Wayne Dial III and his wife Kristy; her daughters, Teresa Lynn Bryant and her husband Travis, Tina Lynn Dial and her husband Ray, and Monica “Bug” Lynn Bass and her husband Levi. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Cameron Travis Bryant, Kaitlyn Dial, Brayden Wayne, Keyozia Gore, Devin Ray Dial, and Robert Mason Gore, as well as her two great-grandchildren. Geraldine's joy in life extended to her family, and her home was a testament to her welcoming spirit. Sundays were especially sacred, filled with the aroma of her famed “yellow” chicken and pastry, cornbread, and her unique boiled egg and pickle potato salad. It was a joy for her to see the happiness her meals brought, and she always delighted in seeing guests return for seconds. Her compassionate nature and loving heart touched all who had the privilege to know her. Geraldine's sister, Retha Mae McNeill, her brother, Randy Hardin, and her special niece, Jamie Alvarado Gore, will forever hold her memory dear. A service celebrating Geraldine's remarkable life will be held at Mt Airy Baptist Church, 7209 North Carolina Hwy 72, Pembroke, NC 28372, on August 18, 2026, at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made to the charity of your choice, honoring Geraldine's generous spirit. As we gather to remember Geraldine, let us cherish the moments of joy and love she gifted us, and find comfort in the lasting impact she made on all our lives. Her memory will forever remain in our hearts, a testament to a life beautifully lived.
