Gerald Levesque
November 19, 1942 — March 14, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Gerald "Gerry" Levesque on March 14, 2026, after a courageous battle with dementia. Born on November 19, 1942, in the quaint town of Valgagne, Ontario, Gerry was the cherished son of the late Ubaldine and Andreas Levesque.
Gerry was a man whose life was defined by love, kindness, and dedication. He shared a beautiful and enduring marriage with his beloved wife, Phyllis, of 57 years. Together, they built a family filled with love and warmth, raising two wonderful children, Doug (Sandra) and Darlene (David), who, along with his five treasured grandchildren—Jarrett, Megan, Bradley, Ella, and Mitchell—brought immense joy to his life.
Throughout his career, Gerry displayed unwavering commitment and skill, working at the Ford Motor Company for over 34 years. Even after retirement, his industrious spirit never waned as he continued to serve his community as a beloved handyman, earning the trust and admiration of a loyal clientele for more than 20 years.
Gerry's passions were as varied as they were heartfelt. An avid golfer, he cherished his weekly games with fellow Ford retirees and especially looked forward to rounds with his dear friend, Paul. His love for golf was rivaled only by his adoration for his grandchildren, for whom he was not only a caregiver and chauffeur but their most enthusiastic cheerleader.
Known for his gregarious nature, Gerry had a gift for conversation, effortlessly striking up discussions with anyone and sharing stories about his favorite topics, cars and golf. His warmth and approachability made him a friend to many and a beloved figure in every community he touched.
Gerry is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis, his children, grandchildren, and his siblings: Madelienne (Gerry), Noella (late Hector), Solange (late Bob), Frances (Jim), Real (Anne), Andrea (Simone), and Yvon (Cheryl). He is also fondly remembered by a host of nieces and nephews. He joins in eternal rest his predeceased family members: Gerald, Phillip, Marcel, Aline, Yvette, and Gabriel, who preceded him in death.
A service to honor and celebrate Gerry's life will be held on April 4, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Smiths Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Burlington Humane Society, a cause dear to Gerry's heart.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the compassionate staff at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital and Maple Villa Long Term Care Home. Although Gerry was in their care for a brief six weeks, he was treated with the utmost dignity and love, for which his family is forever thankful.
Gerry's legacy of love, humor, and integrity will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. As we bid farewell to a remarkable man, we celebrate a life filled with joy, laughter, and immeasurable love.
