In Loving Memory

Gerald Leroy Jones
July 17, 1937 — June 25, 2026
Gerald Leroy Jones, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026, at Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Born on July 17, 1937, in Comanche, Oklahoma, Gerald lived a life rich in love, service, and passion.
The son of Claudson Marion and Willie May (Lovelady) Jones, Gerald was raised with the values of hard work and dedication. Those values were exemplified in his seven years of service in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, where he bravely served as a helicopter door gunner. His courage and dedication to his country were second to none.
Gerald's life was filled with the joy of family. He was preceded in death by his son Martin, daughters Brinda and Tena, grandsons Jesse and Brandon, his parents Claude and Willie Jones, and his brother Earl and his wife Ruth Jones. He leaves behind his devoted wife Delores, daughters Sherry, Terry and Sherry, sons Big Mike, little Mike, David, and Brent. His legacy continues through his sixteen grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward his spirit.
Gerald had a zest for life that was contagious. He loved raising paint horses, a true cowboy at heart, and he took great pleasure in riding motorcycles and restoring old vehicles, his latest project being a 1962 Ford Pickup. His passion for the open road and the satisfaction of a completed project were only rivaled by his love for his family and the time he spent with them. Gerald was also an aficionado of old western movies and often found solace in the familiar strains of his favorite song, "Seven Spanish Angels."
A celebration of Gerald's life will take place on July 18, 2026, at 1:00 PM at The Ranch, located at 201718 East County Road 48, Woodward, Oklahoma.
