Gerald Alan Goldstein

Gerald Alan Goldstein, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, peacefully passed away on July 16, 2026, at the Gilchrist Hospice Center in the comforting presence of his daughter Candace. Born on January 24, 1947, in Hartford, Connecticut, Gerald lived a life full of dedication, love, and laughter. The son of Leonard Goldstein and Helen Cohen, Gerald was raised with a strong sense of family and community, values he carried throughout his life. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Richard Goldstein. He is survived by his cherished daughters, Michelle Inman and Candace Goldstein, his adored granddaughter, Kathryn Inman, and his loving brother, James Goldstein. Gerald was married to Robyn Hatzenbuhler, with whom he shared many wonderful years raising their daughters, Michelle and Candace, in Baltimore County, Maryland. Although they parted ways in 1982, their shared commitment to family remained strong. With a steadfast commitment to public service, Gerald devoted his professional career to law enforcement, initially with the Baltimore City Police Department and later with the Federal Government. His dedication to justice and his community was unwavering, and his work left a lasting impact on many. Gerald was an active member of the Fraternal Order of Police, reflecting his deep commitment to his fellow officers. He also cherished his time as a proud member of the University of Hartford’s Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon, where he formed lifelong friendships. Music brought Gerald immense joy, and he found solace in the works of Beethoven, Mozart, and classic rock. He never missed an episode of "Law and Order" or "Seinfeld," which matched his quick wit and sense of humor perfectly. Gerald had a gift for storytelling, often regaling his family and friends with tales that left them laughing and inspired. Above all, Gerald cherished his family. His daughters and granddaughter were the lights of his life, and he loved them more than anything in this world. His legacy of love, humor, and dedication will be carried on by those who knew him best.
