Georgia M. Wood, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully passed away on May 14, 2026, at the Winchester Medical Center. Born on October 19, 1944, in the small town of Martinsburg, West Virginia, Georgia was a beacon of love and warmth to all who were fortunate to know her. Georgia was the cherished daughter of the late George Cole and Dolly Cole. Her parents instilled in her a steadfast spirit and a kind heart, traits she carried with her throughout her life. She was predeceased by her dear sister, Catherine Shepherd, and her brothers, Richard Cole and Edward Cole, along with her sister, Carolyn Gregory. Daughter-in-law, Rebecca Wood.Georgia now joins them in eternal peace, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience. Family was the cornerstone of Georgia's life. She is survived by her devoted sons: James C. Wood and his wife Paula, Anthony W. Wood, Michael A. Wood and his wife Shelly, and Jason C. Wood and his wife Amanda. Her sons were her pride and joy, and she nurtured them with unwavering support and guidance, teaching them the values of kindness, perseverance, and love. Georgia's legacy extends to her eight grandchildren, each of whom she adored wholeheartedly. She was a gentle presence in their lives, offering wisdom and joy in equal measure. Her seven great-grandchildren were her delight, and she found immense happiness in watching them grow, always ready with a loving smile and a warm embrace. Throughout her life, Georgia was known for her compassionate nature and her ability to bring people together. Her home was a sanctuary of love, filled with laughter and the aroma of her famous home-cooked meals. She had a unique talent for making everyone feel special, and her generosity knew no bounds. In remembering Georgia, we celebrate a life lived with grace and purpose. Her unwavering faith and boundless love remain an inspiration to all who knew her. Though she has left this world, her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and friends, and her legacy is one of love that will endure for generations to come. A private service will be held for family and close friends to honor Georgia's remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Georgia's memory. May she rest in eternal peace, forever in our hearts.
