In Loving Memory of Georgia Ann Davis “Mammaw” With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Georgia Ann Davis, who peacefully entered the arms of Jesus on July 6, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on March 2, 1934, in Rogersville, Tennessee to Henry Johnson and Nishie Dean, Georgia lived a life defined by faith, love, hard work, and devotion to her family. She was the heart of her home, the glue that held generations together, and the kind of woman whose love could be felt the moment you walked through her door. Georgia was raised in the Stone Mountain Church and was blessed to spend her later years worshipping at a multitude of churches, this past year she has been at The Oaks Church in Ashland, Virginia. Georgia shared more than 60 wonderful years of marriage with the love of her life, Bert Davis. Together they built a life centered on faith and family and raised six children. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bert; her sons, Jerry and Mike, son in law Chester; her brother, Jack and her Parents; several precious angels, and multiple grandchildren whom she is now joyfully reunited with in Heaven. She leaves behind a family who adored her, including her children: Her daughter Sissy who has faithfully taken care of her for 8 years, Buster, Lawrence (Becky), and Don (Ann), along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and countless others whose lives were forever blessed by her love. To everyone who knew her, she was simply “Mammaw.” She never met a stranger and never let anyone leave her home hungry. Her kitchen was the heart of the house, where home-cooked meals were served with a side of love. She found happiness in tending her garden, fishing, camping, listening to music, hunting for treasures at yard sales, and making memories on family vacations. She found joy in life’s simple blessings and taught her family to do the same. Her smile was unforgettable, her laughter was contagious, and her hugs could make even the hardest day a little better. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome, accepted, and deeply loved. Her greatest accomplishment wasn’t found in anything she owned—it was in the family she nurtured, the traditions she created, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. While our hearts are broken by her absence, we rejoice knowing she is whole again, walking the streets of Heaven, reunited with her beloved Bert, her children, grandchildren, and loved ones who welcomed her home. We can only imagine the beautiful reunion that took place as she heard the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Her legacy will live on in every family meal, every blooming garden, every fishing trip, every song that brings back a memory, and every story shared around the table. She leaves behind a family forever changed because they had the privilege of being loved by her. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Georgia’s beautiful life on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Affinity Funeral Home, 2720 Enterprise Parkway, Richmond, VA 23294. Though we will miss her every day, we take comfort in knowing this is not goodbye—it is simply, “Until we meet again.” Her favorite memories were taking special trips and having a good meal with Sissy, Mindi (Steven), Jessie, Bonnie and her grandchildren Clay, Jax, Lily, Jimi, Alexa, Jaylee, Milo, Georgia, Rowland and Cooper
