Georgetta was born on December 15, 1978, in Hazard, Kentucky, to her loving parents, George and Shirley Holder.
Georgetta’s life was a testament to dedication, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to her family and community. She graduated from Perry County Central High School in Hazard, Kentucky, and pursued higher education with determination, earning an Associate's degree in Applied Science. This educational journey laid the foundation for her fulfilling career with the Perry County School System, where she devoted 17 years to nurturing and guiding young minds, leaving an indelible mark on countless students and colleagues.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Georgetta was a spirited and passionate individual with a love for sports and community engagement. She found immense joy in coaching volleyball, a passion that allowed her to inspire and instill a love for the game in many young athletes. Her enthusiasm and dedication to coaching were matched only by her kindness and ability to connect with the youth, fostering both their skills and their spirits.
Georgetta is survived by her cherished mother, Shirley Holder, and her two beloved daughters, Kirstein Bowen and Mikila Brown, who were her pride and joy. Her legacy also continues through her precious grandchild, who will grow up hearing stories of a grandmother who was as loving as she was inspiring. Georgetta was predeceased by her father, George Holder, whose memory she honored throughout her life with grace and dignity.
Those who knew Georgetta remember her as a beacon of warmth and resilience, a person who faced life’s challenges with courage and a smile. Her laughter and generous spirit brought light to all who were fortunate to know her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to local youth sports programs, a cause close to Georgetta's heart, ensuring that her passion for nurturing young talent continues to thrive.
