Born on May 2, 1968, in Los Angeles, California, George was the cherished son of the late George Jackson Sr. and Catherine Patten.
George's life was a testament to hard work, devotion, and love. He married Mercy Mcduffie in 2000, and together they built a beautiful family, raising seven children in a home filled with warmth and laughter. Their union was a shining example of partnership and love that lasted over two decades.
A devoted father and industrious entrepreneur, George owned and operated GTDT Transport LLC with an unwavering commitment to excellence. His dedication extended beyond his professional endeavors; he was a pillar of his community, known for his generosity and support. As a faithful member of Holsey Chapel CME for many decades, George's presence was an encouraging force, uplifting those around him through both his words and deeds.
George is survived by his loving wife, Mercy, and their children: Travius Jackson Jr., Deelantay Jackson, Travaris Jackson Jr., Breonna Lott (Terrance Lott), Julius Mcduffie (Kiara Holden), Talisa Roposo (Manny Roposo), and Latasha Lawson (Jeffery Lawson). He leaves behind a legacy of love and strength in his 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.
George's life was a tapestry of love, woven with the threads of family, faith, and community. His unwavering commitment to those he cherished will forever be remembered and celebrated.
A service to honor George's life will be held at Holsey Chapel C.M.E. Church, located at 515 East Suwannee Street, Fitzgerald, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to a charity of your choice, reflecting George's generous spirit and love for his community.
George Roosevelt Jackson Jr. will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love, perseverance, and kindness will continue to inspire and guide us. May he rest in eternal peace.
