George Martin Currie, aged 72, passed away peacefully at his home on September 21, 2026, surrounded by the love and support of his devoted wife, Terry, his compassionate hospice team, and a dear friend, Nancy. Born on April 16, 1954, in Gardner, Massachusetts, George lived a life filled with love, dedication, and simple joys that touched everyone around him. George's life was a tapestry woven with the simple pleasures that he cherished. He found great joy in fishing, camping, and traveling across the country. A true sports enthusiast, he was an ardent supporter of the Miami Dolphins and the Boston Red Sox. George also had a fondness for a good bourbon, which he enjoyed during leisurely moments. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with his beloved granddaughters, Eva, Maddie, and Lily. Whether playing together or sharing the comfort of a Saturday afternoon watching cowboy shows, being their "Morfar" brought him unparalleled happiness. Before retiring due to disability in 2001, George was a skilled bus mechanic and carpenter. His dedication to community service was exemplified through his work as a firefighter in Bondsville and Wales, Massachusetts, where he served with valor and integrity. George leaves behind a loving family who will continue to cherish his memory. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Terry; his daughters, Kristy Kaminski and her husband, Aaron, and Nicole Wood and her husband, Tim; his son, Marty, and his wife, Melissa. Along with his cherished granddaughters, he is also lovingly remembered by his siblings, Kathy, Sally, Lian, and his brother, Steve. George's life was a testament to the love and warmth that he shared with all who knew him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever remember the light he brought into their lives.
