It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of George Lloyd III, a beloved husband, father, son, and friend, who departed this world on July 22, 2026, after bravely battling long-term heart complications. Born on January 18, 1971, in Chicago, IL, George's life was a testament to resilience, passion, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. George was the cherished son of George Lloyd Jr. and Rose Lloyd Hazley, who instilled in him the values of kindness and perseverance. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Hope Lloyd, as well as his paternal grandparents, George and Margaret Lloyd, maternal grandparents, Mary Hernton and Jack Barnes, brother Timothy Lloyd, Aunt Elizabeth Wilson, and Uncle I.W Younger. George is survived by his loving parents George Jr. and Rose, Wife Terracinna, daughter Lucille Matthews, uncle's Sidney (Sheri) Hernton, Bo Melvin Johnny and Dan Barnes, Aunt Hazel Turner Mary Gibbs, siblings Sonia (Jimmy) Adams Jimmy (Lakenna) Lloyd, Kimberly (Tenika) Henderson, Sabrina, Annette () Adamu. Special siblings Julia, Tawanna Richard and Tina. A host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews and cousin. A proud graduate of Rich Central High School's class of 1989, George went on to earn his Master Mechanic Degree from Universal Tech in 2000. His professional journey spanned over a decade with the State of Illinois, after which he dedicated his skills to the Chicago Transit Authority as a mechanical engineer until his retirement. George's entrepreneurial spirit shone through his own auto repair business, where he took great joy in mentoring others and sharing his vast knowledge. George's faith journey began early in life at Ward Memorial Baptist Church in Chicago, where he was baptized and nurtured spiritually. In recent years, he became a devoted member of Full Gospel Christian Assemblies International Church in Hazel Crest, IL, where he found a supportive community and deepened his spiritual engagement. Throughout his life, George was driven by a fervent passion for rebuilding old school cars, which led him to establish Raw Nutz Racing LLC. His enthusiasm extended to a love of fishing and a remarkable talent as DJ Disco G, where he left an indelible mark on the music scene. George was celebrated not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his warm smile, quick wit, and generous spirit. He had an innate ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued, spreading joy and laughter wherever he went. George Lloyd III leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those he touched.
