It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George Hayeck, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and friend. George peacefully departed this world on March 23, 2026, at the age of 58, after suffering a heart attack. Born on December 12, 1967, in the serene town of Lake Harmony, Pennsylvania, George brought warmth and joy to everyone who crossed his path.
George was the cherished son of Mary and George Hayeck, who instilled in him the values of kindness, integrity, and a love for life. These values guided him throughout his journey, forging bonds and creating memories that will be treasured by all who knew him.
He shared his life with his devoted wife, Barbara Hayeck, with whom he celebrated ten wonderful years of marriage. Their partnership was a testament to love and companionship, marked by laughter, shared dreams, and a profound devotion to their family.
George was the proud father of two sons, Anthony Acevedo and Salvatore Steffens, who were the lights of his life. His wisdom, compassion, and unwavering support were the foundations upon which his sons built their own lives. George's legacy continues through his cherished grandson, who will grow up with stories of his grandfather's humor, kindness, and boundless energy.
An avid baseball fan, George spent countless hours both watching and coaching the sport he adored. His passion for baseball was infectious; he inspired many young athletes with his dedication and love for the game. To him, baseball wasn’t just a pastime—it was a way to connect, to teach, and to bring joy to others. His enthusiasm for the sport was matched only by the joy he found in nurturing young talent and fostering a love for the game.
George's departure leaves a void that can never be filled, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Those who had the privilege of knowing him will remember his warm smile, his generous heart, and the unwavering love he gave so freely.
In addition to his immediate family, George is survived by his dear parents, Mary and George, who were his lifelong pillars of support, and his extended family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
A celebration of George's life will be held to honor the incredible person he was. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a local youth baseball league, ensuring that George's passion for the sport continues to inspire future generations.
As we say goodbye to George, let us remember the joy he brought into our lives and strive to live with the same kindness and fervor that he did. His legacy of love, dedication, and enthusiasm for life will remain in our hearts forever.
