George "Buddy" Harold Smith

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George "Buddy" Harold Smith, who passed on June 13, 2026, at the age of 70. Born on October 31, 1955, in the city of Louisville, Kentucky, Buddy graced this world with his presence, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him. Buddy was a man of deep convictions and unwavering loyalty. He stood firm in his beliefs, a spiritual soul who found solace and strength in his faith. A proud American, he cherished the values of freedom and community, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Above all, his faithful companion, his dog Lucky, was a constant source of joy and companionship, reflecting Buddy's own unwavering loyalty and love. Buddy leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his daughters, Kristy Nevitt and April Gahafer, and his son, August Smith. His spirit lives on in his five grandchildren, Turner Nevitt, Jack Smith, Gunner Nevitt, Maylee Gahafer, and Layla Smith, each a testament to the enduring love and values he instilled in his family. Buddy's life will be celebrated on June 19, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at BA Colonial, located at 818 West Kenwood Drive, Louisville, KY 40214.
