It is with profound sorrow and heartfelt gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of George Azubuike Nwachukwu, who departed this world on December 17th, 2025. Born in the vibrant city of Lagos on June 3rd, 1978, George enriched the lives of those around him through his unwavering kindness, integrity, and infectious joy. George was predeceased by his beloved wife, Oluchi Nwachukwu, with whom he shared a beautiful journey of love, companionship, and laughter for 23 remarkable years. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Destiny and George Nwachukwu, who were the pride and joy of his life. A dedicated family man, George cherished every moment spent with his children and grandchildren, delighting in their adventures and achievements. His legacy of love and compassion is carried on by his surviving family, who will forever hold him close in their hearts. George's educational journey began at Government Secondary School, where he graduated in 1995. Driven by an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and excellence, he obtained a Higher National Diploma in Engineering from the Polytechnic in 2001. His commitment to learning saw him pursue numerous professional certifications, further cementing his expertise and advancing a distinguished career. As a civil engineer, George contributed to numerous construction and infrastructure projects, leaving a lasting impact on the community he served with dedication and pride. His role as a civil servant underscored his lifelong commitment to public service and community development, with each endeavor marked by his strong work ethic and passion for improving the lives of others. Beyond his professional achievements, George was known for his quick wit and warm smile, traits that endeared him to everyone he met. He had the rare ability to make everyone feel welcome, valued, and loved, often using his delightful sense of humor to uplift and connect with others. George had a zest for life that was evident in his love for football, both as a player and a fan. He found joy in traveling and exploring new places, creating cherished memories that will be treasured by those who shared in his adventures. Above all, George valued spending quality time with his family, finding happiness in their togetherness. A service to celebrate George's life will be held on June 23rd, 2026, at the C.I.W.A Catholic Church, located on 2nd Artillery Road. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the CIWA Catholic Church, a gesture that aligns with George's spirit of generosity and community support. In the words of his family, "Our dear George Azubuike Nwachukwu was a pillar of strength and compassion in our community. His kindness and humility touched everyone who knew him. He will live on in the smiles and stories he left behind." George's memory will forever be a guiding light for those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, knowing that his legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to inspire and uplift for generations to come.
