It is with heavy hearts but fond memories that we announce the passing of Geoff Booth, a remarkable man who graced this world with his presence from January 28, 1947, until April 11, 2026. Geoff passed peacefully at home, leaving behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and cherished memories. Born in the picturesque city of Salt Lake City, Utah, Geoff was the beloved son of Thornton Young Booth and Nan Nichols Booth. He spent his formative years in Logan, Utah, where he completed his high school education before pursuing higher learning in Houston, Texas. There, he earned a Master's Degree in Engineering, a testament to his brilliant mind and relentless dedication to knowledge. Geoff's life was marked by service, both to his country and to those around him. He proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, demonstrating courage and commitment that would define much of his life. Following his military service, Geoff embarked on a successful career as an engineer with Schlumberger, where he left an indelible mark with his intelligence and innovative spirit. In May of 1994, Geoff's life took a joyous turn when he married the love of his life, Wilma Turner, in a heartfelt ceremony in San Francisco, California. Their union, celebrated by family in Houston, Texas, was a testament to a love that grew stronger with each passing year. Together, they created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and shared adventure. Geoff was a man of many passions. He found joy in the rhythm of dance, the craftsmanship of woodworking, and the strategic play of Bridge and Dominoes. His love for travel took him on countless adventures, from the vibrant landscapes of Africa and Europe to the serene beauty of Hawaii and Alaska. Wherever he went, Geoff brought with him an infectious zest for life that inspired those around him. A devoted family man, Geoff leaves behind his beloved wife, Wilma, and their children: Don and Char Clauder, Artie and Lori Clauder, Candiss and Eric Edwards, and Paul and Melissa Clauder. He was a cherished grandfather to eleven grandchildren and a doting great-grandfather to nine great-grandchildren. Though predeceased by his parents, his brother James Booth, and daughter-in-law Connie Clauder, Geoff's memory will forever be a source of comfort and strength to his loved ones. Geoff's personal qualities were as numerous as they were admirable. He was a thoughtful and endearing soul, known for his engaging conversations and delightful banter with both children and grandchildren. A brilliant teacher, he imparted wisdom in the form of puzzle-solving, encouraging his grandchildren to rely on their minds over shortcuts. Geoff was a man who truly lived life to its fullest, enriching the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. A celebration of Geoff's life will be held on May 2, 2026, at 2:00 PM. As we gather to honor his memory, we do so with gratitude for the time we shared and the indelible mark he left on our hearts. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Geoff's memory, reflecting his spirit of generosity and compassion. Geoff Booth's journey on this earth may have come to an end, but his legacy of love, laughter, and brilliance will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those he touched. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered, forever a guiding star for his family and friends.
