It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gene Robert Heiman, a cherished member of our community, who left us peacefully on April 18, 2026, at his home in the comforting company of his beloved dogs, Spot and Snowflake. Born on February 25, 1962, in Columbus, Wisconsin, Gene was a beacon of warmth, kindness, and generosity, whose life touched many around him.
Gene was the beloved son of Mary Ann and Robert Heiman, who preceded him in death. He was the dear brother of Debbie (Gary) Stueber, Dennis Heiman (Julie), and Jackie Heiman (Del). His legacy lives on in his nieces and nephews: Bernadette, Becky, Peter, Mark, Amy, and Riva, along with numerous great nieces and nephews, and a host of close friends who were considered family.
A proud graduate of Marshall High School's Class of 1980, Gene embarked on a life filled with passion and dedication. He was a successful entrepreneur, owning multiple taverns at different times in his life, where he became known not just for his business acumen but for his ability to create spaces where community and camaraderie flourished. Gene had an unbridled passion for drag racing and everything related to cars, which fueled his adventurous spirit and brought him immeasurable joy throughout his life.
Gene's love for adventure extended to his membership in the Brother of Third Wheel Wisconsin club and the Western Rock County ATV Club, where he shared his enthusiasm for the open road with like-minded friends. His joy was palpable when he rode his trike, often accompanied by the classic country tunes that inspired him to dance and even pull the occasional wheelie.
An active member of the Footville Church of Christ, Gene's faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding him through the triumphs and challenges with grace and strength. He was well known and loved throughout the community, admired for his resilience and his ability to overcome life's obstacles with a smile.
Gene's life will be celebrated on May 9, 2026, Visitation at 9:00 AM with services at 11:00 am at the Footville Church of Christ, located at 117 Church St, Footville, WI 53537. His family extends their deepest gratitude to the compassionate staff of Unity Point Health Meriter and Agrace Hospice for their support and care.
In honoring Gene's memory, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and indomitable spirit. His legacy of kindness and the warmth of his smile will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. Rest in peace, dear Gene, as you ride on to new adventures.
