Gene Parker Stralow
October 11, 1995 — March 29, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gene Parker Stralow, who left this world far too soon on March 29, 2026, at the age of 30. Gene was born on October 11, 1995, in Rock Falls, IL, and through his years, he touched the lives of many with his kindness, energy, and unwavering passion for life.
Gene was the beloved son of Nathan Stralow and Amber Roudley, and the cherished spouse of Amy Stralow, with whom he shared eight beautiful years of marriage. Gene and Amy's journey together began in Wrightstown, WI, where their hearts found a home. Though they had no children, their life together was filled with love, laughter, and mutual support.
Gene's life was a tapestry woven with vibrant threads of family, friends, and the community he loved. He is survived by his father and stepmother, Nathan and Angie Stralow, and his mother and stepfather, Amber and Dennis Roudley. He will be deeply missed by his siblings Camden, Deklan, Braxton, and Briella Stralow, as well as his stepsiblings Logan and Jaydon Voss. His presence will also be sorely missed by his grandparents, Arnette and Duane Stralow, and Luke and Paulene Rhodes, along with his father-in-law, George Larson.
Preceding him in death and welcoming him into the afterlife are his step-sister, Emily Hughes, and his mother-in-law, Betty Larson, whose memories Gene always cherished.
Gene's education journey took him from Rock Falls High School, where he graduated in 2013, to the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, where he pursued his passion for culinary arts, graduating in 2017. This passion led him to Red Ox Seafood and Steakhouse in Appleton, WI, where he began as a cook and rose to the esteemed position of Head Chef in 2022. Gene's culinary creations were a testament to his dedication and love for his craft, and his colleagues and patrons alike were captivated by his flavorful masterpieces.
While Gene's professional life was a testament to his passion for culinary arts, he also cherished his personal interests. A diehard Packers fan in a family of Bears supporters, Gene's move to Wisconsin seemed destined. He became a devoted season ticket holder for the Green Bay Packers, only a short drive from Lambeau Field. An avid golfer, Gene could often be found perfecting his swing at Reid Golf Course in Appleton, WI, every spring and summer morning. His sporty energy and zest for life were infectious, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Gene was not just a colleague, friend, or family member; he was a beacon of kindness and warmth. His super sweet nature and athletic vigor brought joy to those around him and left an indelible mark on their hearts.
A service to celebrate Gene's life will be held on April 2, 2026, at 3:30 PM at Wichmann Funeral Home, located at 537 N Superior St, Appleton, WI 54911. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to HSHS St. Vincent Hospital for the compassionate care provided to Gene following the tragic car crash that ultimately claimed his life.
