Gene H. Oyler

October 1, 1940 — October 17, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Gene H. Oyler on October 17, 2026, at home, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on October 1, 1940, in the serene town of Mountain View, Arkansas, Gene was the cherished son of Hulon Oyler and Frances Parks Oyler. Gene's life was a tapestry of love, dedication, and service. A proud graduate of Mountain View High School, he went on to pursue higher education at the University of North Carolina in Asheville, where he earned a bachelor's degree in psychology. His yearning to serve led him to the United States Air Force, where he dedicated eight years of his life. During his time stationed in Germany, Gene was fortunate to meet Liselotte, the love of his life, with whom he shared an incredible journey of 63 years. Professionally, Gene was deeply immersed in the nuclear industry, a career that not only brought him fulfillment but also afforded him and Liselotte the opportunity to explore the diverse landscapes of the United States. Despite the demands of his profession, Gene always prioritized his family, cherishing moments spent with his beloved grandson Christian. His warmth and intelligent demeanor were matched by a smile that could light up any room. Beyond work and family, Gene held a genuine affection for life and those around him. His legacy is one of kindness, intelligence, and unwavering love for his family. Those who were fortunate to know him will remember him as a man who rejoiced in the simple pleasures of life, especially moments shared with his grandson. Gene leaves behind a devoted family, including his loving wife Liselotte, his daughter Charlotte, and his grandson Christian. While his absence leaves a void that can never be filled, his memory will forever be a guiding light in their lives. The family wishes to express profound gratitude to Choice Hospice for their compassionate care, Dana Hebert for her dedicated nursing knowledge, and especially Coty Bryant, whose unwavering love and attention made her a treasured member of the Oyler family. In honor of Gene's generous spirit and in lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice. Through these acts of kindness, Gene’s spirit continues to touch lives. Gene will be dearly missed, but his legacy of love and kindness will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family of Gene H. Oyler welcomes donations to a charity, nonprofit, church, or organization of your choosing.
