In loving memory of Gene-Earl James, who passed away on June 18, 2026, at the age of 50. Gene-Earl was born on October 8, 1975, in Homestead, Florida, to the late Russell James and Barbara-Jean Girtman. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many.
Raised in the warm embrace of his family in Homestead, Gene-Earl was educated in the Miami-Dade County Public School System. After graduating from high school, he embarked on a dedicated career with Waste Management, where he was known for his strong work ethic and camaraderie with colleagues.
Gene-Earl was predeceased by his loving parents, Russell James and Barbara-Jean Girtman, as well as his step-mother, Karen James. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his surviving family: brothers Gabriel James and Fredrick Girtman; sisters Shonda Brown and Jessica James; uncles Walter Girtman, Alonzo Girtman, and Issac Girtman; and his godsister, Sonya Richardson. His warmth and kindness will also be remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
Throughout his life, Gene-Earl was known for his generosity, humor, and the ability to bring people together. His family and friends will forever remember the joy he brought into their lives and the unwavering support he offered to those he loved.
A celebration of Gene-Earl's life will be held on June 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, located at 21311 NW 34th Ave, Miami Gardens, FL 33056. Friends and family are invited to gather and honor a life that was lived with grace and generosity.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Gene-Earl's memory. His spirit will continue to shine through the good deeds inspired by his life.
