Gary Winn Butler, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on July 21, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family after a courageous battle with illness. Born on April 9, 1956, in Sylmar, California, Gary lived a fulfilling life that touched the hearts of many. Gary was the cherished son of John and Mary Butler, whose values and love profoundly shaped the man he became. In 1975, Gary married his high school sweetheart, Robin Wynn. Their marriage, filled with love and laughter, was a testament to their unwavering commitment to each other. Together, they raised three wonderful children and were blessed with 12 grandchildren, who were the light of Gary's life. A dedicated and skilled mechanical engineer, Gary devoted 35 years of his career to Ford, where he was respected and admired by colleagues for his work ethic and expertise. Upon retiring, he pursued his passion for photography, capturing the beauty of wildlife and sunsets with his lens. Though he modestly considered himself just an "average photographer," those who beheld his work knew it was anything but. Gary's life was enriched by his deep faith and his active membership at the First Baptist Church in New Brunsville, Texas. His quick wit, happy smile, and ability to keep those around him laughing will be dearly missed. He had a unique gift for bringing joy and light to any room he entered, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Memorial Hospital for the care and support they provided to Gary and his loved ones during his final days. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Gary's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization close to his heart.
