In Loving Memory

Gary Wayne Kirschenman
May 29, 1960 — June 17, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gary Wayne Kirschenman, a beloved husband, stepfather, brother, and friend, who left this world on June 17, 2026, after a courageous year and a half battle with cancer. He was 66 years old.
Gary was born on May 29, 1960, in Freeman, South Dakota, to Clarence and Alverna Kirschenman. His life journey was marked by service, adventure, and an unwavering dedication to those he loved. Predeceased by his parents, his Aunt Viola Robbins, and his brother-in-law Kevin Jewkes, Gary's legacy of kindness and humor will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
In 1977, Gary answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Navy. As an Electrical/Mechanical Equipment Repairman, he was recognized for his exceptional service with the Navy Expeditionary Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and Meritorious Unit Commendation. His time in the Navy instilled in him a sense of duty and camaraderie that he carried throughout his life.
After his honorable discharge in 1981, Gary embarked on a career as a professional truck driver, dedicating over 30 years to the industry before retiring in 2025. Much of his career was spent with CPC Logistics, where he was known for his reliability and work ethic.
In May of 2022, Gary married the love of his life, Suzanne, in Corsicana, Texas. Together, they shared a decade of love, laughter, and countless Harley rides that took them on adventures to both new and familiar places. Gary's passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles was only matched by his love for his vegetable garden and his impressive collection of firearms. His marksmanship was as sharp as his wit, and he was always ready with a joke to lighten the mood.
Gary leaves behind a family who adored him and friends who cherished his company. He is survived by his devoted wife, Suzanne Kirschenman, and his beloved stepdaughters, Alexis Stubblefield and her partner Connor Ervin, and Kamryn Hayes and her husband Marcus Hayes. He is also survived by his sisters, Sharon Tyler Kirschenman and Twyla Ward Przybilla, along with her husband Dave Przybilla. His close friends, Ken and Hillary Coffey, and Curt and Cindy Bauer, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members, will forever remember the warmth and generosity that Gary brought into their lives.
Gary was a proud member of the American Legion, where he found camaraderie among fellow veterans. His quick wit, warm smile, and gift for making everyone feel welcome left an indelible mark on the hearts of many. His kindness and generosity knew no bounds, touching countless lives along the way.
A service to honor and celebrate Gary's life will be held on July 17, 2026, at 1:30 PM at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, located at 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Gary's memory.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Patriot Riders, the dedicated staff at UT Southwestern Simmons Cancer Center, and everyone who offered prayers and support during these difficult months. Gary will be deeply missed but forever remembered, as his spirit rides on in the hearts of those he loved.
