Gary Wayne Everett

February 22, 1971 — April 25, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gary Wayne Everett, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left us peacefully on April 25, 2026, at the age of 55. Born in Oaklawn, Illinois, on February 22, 1971, Gary was the cherished son of Dennis and Virginia Everett and is now reunited with them, as well as his beloved brothers, Ronnie and Keith, in eternal rest. Gary's life was a testament to the power of kindness and the joy of simple pleasures. He was a man whose heart was as welcoming as the aroma of a summer barbecue, a man who made every family gathering a memorable occasion with his love for grilling. He took great pride in tending to the grill, making sure each meal was perfect, much like the way he tended to the needs of those around him. In 2009, Gary married the love of his life, Rejina, and their marriage of 17 years was a journey enriched by love, resilience, and unwavering support. Together, they built a beautiful family, and Gary found immense joy in his role as a father to their six children: Dillon, Evan, Anna, Michael, Matthew, and Andrew. His legacy of love and integrity lives on in them, and they, in turn, have blessed him with two adoring grandchildren who will carry forward the stories of their grandfather's warmth and generosity. Gary was known far and wide for his willingness to lend a helping hand. Whether it was assisting a neighbor, coaching a youth sports team, or volunteering at community events, Gary's dedication to helping others was a defining characteristic. He was a beacon of reliability, a man who could always be counted on in times of need, and his absence leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all who knew him. Though his time with us was too short, Gary's impact on the lives he touched will endure. He was a man who understood the value of love and connection, and he lived his life accordingly, always prioritizing the needs and happiness of his family and friends. In honoring Gary's memory, we remember a man who taught us that the most important things in life are not measured by material wealth, but by the love we give and receive. As we say goodbye, we hold tight to the lessons he taught us and the warmth of his spirit, which will forever be a guiding light in our hearts. A celebration of Gary's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to share stories, laughter, and memories of a man who gave so much of himself to the world. Details will be shared with loved ones in the coming days. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Gary's honor to a charity of your choice, reflecting his spirit of giving and support. Rest in peace, Gary Wayne Everett. You will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
