Gary Stanton

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Gary Stanton on August 25, 2026, at Rocky Mountain Assisted Living. Born on August 4, 1946, in Englewood, Colorado, Gary lived a life marked by kindness, service, and devotion to those he loved. Gary was the beloved son of the late Loren and Elizabeth Stanton, fondly known as Beth. His childhood in Englewood was enriched by the values and love instilled by his parents, values that he carried with him throughout his life. He graduated from Englewood High School and soon after, answered the call to serve his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force from 1966 to 1970. Gary's time in the military as a Crew Chief was a source of great pride with his love of the C-130 aircraft and left a lasting impact on his life. Gary was a Staff Sergeant when he departed the Air Force. On March 1, 1973, Gary married the love of his life, Tyna Stanton. Their union was blessed with the joys of family, and together they navigated the ups and downs of life until Tyna's passing. Gary is predeceased by his cherished wife Tyna, as well as his beloved parents, Loren and Beth Stanton. Gary's career as a building facilities and maintenance technician was one marked by dedication and a strong work ethic. He was known for his helpful nature, always ready with a warm smile and a willingness to assist anyone in need. His colleagues and friends could always count on him for a genuine conversation, often about his favorite topics like politics or the latest movie he had seen. An active member of the Englewood First Presbyterian Church, Gary found joy and community in his faith. Outside of his formal commitments, he was a man of simple pleasures, one of which was indulging in Dairy Queen ice cream, A trip he was always ready for. Gary is survived by his sister, Sandy Height, and his brother, Denny Stanton, along with Denny’s wife, Nancy Stanton. His legacy continues through his children, Patric Stanton and his wife Angie, and Ryan Stanton and his wife Holly. Gary’s grandchildren, Dashel Stanton, Brittany Warren and her husband David, Ashley Steele, and Lauren Westbrook and her husband Adam, brought much joy to his life. The light of his life extended to his great-grandchildren, Hunter Warren, John Warren, Travis Newsome, and Arthur Westbrook. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the medical staff at the Veterans Administration, Rocky Mountain Assisted Living, Bloom Health, and First Light Home Healthcare. Their compassionate care and understanding were a great comfort to Gary and his loved ones during his final days. In memory of Gary, the family suggests donations to a charity of one's choice, honoring his generous spirit and commitment to helping others. As we reflect on Gary's life, we remember a man who was deeply loved and respected. He touched the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, integrity, and love. His presence will be dearly missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
