It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for his life that we announce the passing of Gary Lynn Evans, a beloved husband, father, and friend, who peacefully departed this world on March 25, 2026. Gary, born on September 25, 1959, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, was cradled in the love of his wife and daughter as he concluded a courageous battle with liver cancer. Gary was the cherished son of the late Charles Lewis Evans and Peggy Sue Evans, and a beloved brother to his predeceased sister, Pamela Evans Hillis. From his parents, he inherited a wealth of love and values that he carried with him throughout his life, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him. Gary’s journey was graced with the love and partnership of his devoted wife, Dawn Evans, whom he married on June 6, 1987. Together, they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and enduring love. Their union was blessed with a daughter, Kira Evans, who survives him and continues to be the embodiment of his love and legacy. Professionally, Gary was a man of many talents. He began his working life in St. Charles, Missouri, where he honed his skills in painting and repairing old cars—a testament to his meticulous nature and creative spirit. In 1988, he shifted gears to start a career in fixing and selling CB radios, where his dedication and commitment earned him respect and admiration from colleagues and clients alike. Gary had an unwavering passion for collecting diecast cars, with a particular fondness for Nascars, Hot Wheels, and Matchbox cars. His hobby was not just a pastime but a reflection of his artistic flair and attention to detail. He took great pleasure in restoring and painting these miniature cars, transforming them into vibrant pieces of art that mirrored his zest for life. Beyond his professional and personal interests, Gary was revered for his warm heart and boundless generosity. He was a great husband, a loving father, and an irreplaceable friend to many. His kindness, loyalty, and infectious smile left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to have known him. Though Gary has left this earthly realm, his spirit remains alive in the memories and hearts of those he touched. He will be dearly missed, but his legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire and guide those who loved him. A celebration of Gary's life will be held at a later date, where friends and family can gather to honor his memory and share stories of a life well-lived. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Gary's name to a charity of choice, as a tribute to his generous and giving nature. May Gary Lynn Evans rest in eternal peace, forever remembered and cherished.
