Gary Lorne Neff

April 22, 1965 — November 10, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Gary Lorne Neff, a cherished brother, uncle, and friend, who left this world on November 10, 2025, at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Alliance. Born on April 22, 1965, in New Martinsville, West Virginia, Gary's journey through life was marked by kindness, humor, and a deep love for music and people. Gary was the beloved son of Earle and Irene Neff, both of whom predeceased him, along with his brother Dave Neff and sister Donna Neff Cox. He is survived by his devoted siblings: Linda Powell of Alliance, OH, Patricia (Roger) Colter of Greenwood, IN, Stan (Debbie) Neff of Lancaster, SC, Tanya (Jim) Corbitt of Rollesville, NC, and Christina (Doyle) Stephens of Frederick, CO, as well as a host of nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart. A lifelong bachelor, Gary chose to dedicate his time to his passions and the people he loved. After graduating from Junction City High School in Kansas in 1983, he initially moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, before settling in the Dallas/Ft Worth area in 1987. There, he joined a close-knit group of childhood friends from Grandview Plaza, Kansas, who became his second family over the 38 years he lived in Texas. Gary's career was spent at BT Trailers in Fort Worth, TX, where his colleagues could always count on his unwavering work ethic and infectious smile. Outside of work, Gary found joy in simple pleasures—strumming his guitar, composing songs, enjoying movies and old sitcoms, and cheering on his beloved West Virginia Mountaineers. Those who knew Gary will remember his quirky sense of humor and the laughter that often surrounded him. His compassion and generosity knew no bounds; he never hesitated to help those in need and was known for his ability to see the good in everyone. Gary's love for music was a defining aspect of his life, with a talent for playing the guitar by ear and a knack for songwriting that touched the hearts of many. Gary's celebration of life will be held on April 25, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Furbee Funeral Home in Middlebourne, WV. In honor of Gary, we invite his friends and family to gather and share stories, music, and memories, ensuring his spirit continues to resonate in the lives of those he touched. Though we mourn the loss of Gary, we take comfort in knowing that his laughter, kindness, and melodies will forever echo in our hearts. Gary's legacy is one of love, friendship, and the unbreakable bonds he formed throughout his life. May his soul rest in peace, embraced by the music he so dearly loved.
