It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Gary E. Beman on April 2, 2026, at his cherished home. Born on November 23, 1950, in Toledo, Ohio, Gary was a beloved son of the late Thelma and Russell "Bud" Beman. His life was one of service, love, and dedication, traits he carried with him through every chapter of his journey. Gary grew up in Perrysburg, Ohio, and graduated from Perrysburg High School in 1968. Shortly thereafter, he answered the call to serve his country, joining the U.S. Army. His service from 1968 to 1972 took him to Fort Knox for basic training, Fort Benning for advanced training, and ultimately Fort Lewis, Washington, with overseas duty in Seoul, Korea. He achieved the rank of Specialist 4th Class, embodying the spirit of dedication and patriotism. Following his military service, Gary embarked on a rewarding career as a die setter at Winzeler Stamping, dedicating 37 years to his craft. Prior to this, he worked with the phone company, showcasing his versatility and work ethic. Gary was a proud member of the American Legion, VFW, and Moose Lodge, and he served his community as a volunteer firefighter for many years, always willing to lend a helping hand. Gary's life was enriched by his deep passions and interests. An avid fisherman, he found peace and joy in the quiet embrace of nature. He was a devoted fan of Ohio State sporting events and NASCAR, and he found happiness in cheering from the sidelines of his grandchildren's sporting events. Gary also enjoyed coin collecting, a hobby that gave him a sense of history and discovery. His loving dog, Dolly, was a constant companion, providing him with comfort and unconditional love. Family was at the heart of Gary's life. He was predeceased by his beloved son, Scott Beman Sr., daughter Carrie Beman, and his parents, Thelma and Russell. He is survived by his devoted son, Chad Beman, and daughter, Amy Arnos, as well as his sister, Karen Schultz. Gary was a proud grandfather to his eight grandchildren: Devin, Scott Jr., Alex, Carly, Allie, Nora, Zoe, and Elijah, each of whom brought immense joy and pride into his life. Gary's family will honor his memory in a private ceremony, respecting his wishes for an intimate gathering. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, an organization close to Gary's heart. The Beman family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who touched Gary's life. Your love, friendship, and support have meant the world to them, and they find solace in the shared memories and stories that celebrate the remarkable man Gary was. Gary E. Beman will be remembered as a loving father, devoted grandfather, and loyal friend. His legacy of kindness, strength, and service will forever inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
