Gary C. Curtis, a devoted family man, veteran, and community pillar, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on October 28, 1947, to J. Clayton and Mildred Murray Curtis, Gary's life was a testament to love, service, and dedication. Gary is survived by his siblings, Brother Jerry Curtis and Sister Beverly (Jim) McDowell and preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Bryan. He cherished the values instilled in him by his parents, which he carried throughout his life. After graduating from East Clinton High School, Gary proudly served his country in the United States Army, earning an honorable discharge. His commitment to service continued as he embarked on a successful career as a sales representative for manufactured homes and insurance. A man of deep faith, Gary was an active member of the Southside Baptist Church in Harrisville, West Virginia. His unwavering dedication to his church community was evident in his participation and leadership, where he offered kindness and support to all who crossed his path. Gary is survived by his children: Jeffrey Curtis, Scott Curtis, Kelli Huysman, Amber Curtis, Aaron (Karen) Curtis, Rachael (David) McKenney, and Sarah (Nathan) Burroughs. His legacy continues through his 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Though Gary has left this world, he leaves behind a legacy of love, integrity, and commitment. His family finds solace in the memories they shared with him and the lessons he imparted. His passing leaves a profound void, but his spirit will forever guide those he loved. Gary C.
