The Road They Loved
The Road They Loved They walked the roads that knew their name, Where every tree and porchlight came To greet them with a gentle grace, A friendly nod, a familiar face. They wandered paths beneath wide skies, With open heart and smiling eyes. No mile was wasted, no step in vain— Each turn held joy, each street a lane Of stories shared and laughter grown, In the little town they called their own. And though their footsteps now are still, The roads they loved wind onward still. In every sunrise, every breeze, Their spirit walks among the trees. For love like theirs does not depart— It lingers on in every heart.
23rd Psalm
The Lord is my shepherd: I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside still waters. He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake; yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me; Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; Thou anointest my head with oil, my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord, forever.
