It is with profound sadness and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Garry Smith, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who departed this life on June 5, 2026, at the age of 69. Garry was born on November 24, 1956, in the close-knit community of McAllister, Oklahoma, to his loving parents, Lyneata Faye Smith and Tommy Smith.
Garry was a man who embodied the spirit of family and friendship. He cherished every moment spent with his children and grandchildren, finding immense joy in their laughter and companionship. His daughters, Monique Smith-Jones (Robert Jones), Mary Ann Smith-Parker (Austin Parker), Shanise Smith, and Arnika Hughes were the lights of his life, and he took great pride in their accomplishments. Garry's legacy continues through his grandchildren, Jalen Headen, Dallas Parker, Skylar Parker, Coy Jones, and Faith Jones, who will carry forward his love and wisdom.
Garry was predeceased by his beloved sisters, Karen Patrice Smith and Tonya Renee Justice, whose memories he carried with him. He is survived by his devoted sisters, Glenda Dianne Gillum and Paula Faye Smith, and his brother, Tommy Green, who will forever cherish their shared moments and the bond of siblinghood.
Throughout his life, Garry found solace and happiness in the simple pleasures—especially in the laughter shared with family. His humor and warmth left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He valued every gathering, every shared story, and every smile exchanged with his family, particularly his daughters, whom he adored.
In this time of mourning, the family extends heartfelt gratitude to Brother Whitmore for his unwavering support and care for Garry. Your presence was a source of strength and comfort when it was needed the most. The Parker family also holds a special place in the hearts of Garry's loved ones for their generosity and love during this challenging time.
Garry's life will be honored in a private ceremony, allowing family and close friends to celebrate his memory in a personal, heartfelt manner. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages everyone to hold onto the joyful memories, the love shared, and the laughter that Garry so freely gave.
While our hearts are heavy with loss, we find solace in knowing that Garry's spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew him. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to family—a legacy that will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
May Garry Smith rest in everlasting peace, and may his memory be a blessing to all who had the privilege to be part of his life.
