It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Garry Jay Ginyard, a beloved son, brother, father, and friend, who left this world on June 13, 2026, at the age of 45. Garry was born on February 20, 1981, in the bustling city of New York, New York, where his journey began and where he touched the lives of those around him with his beautiful spirit and infectious smile. Garry was the cherished son of Leola Ginyard and the late John Ginyard. He was preceded in death by his father, his dear Uncle Eddie, Jimmy, Cliffton, Aunt Vicky, Grandmother Wilhelmina, Tilly Ruth, and his brother, Lil John. Despite the profound losses he endured, Garry found strength in his remaining family, whose love and support were the cornerstones of his life. He is survived by his devoted grandfather, James Minton Sr.; his loving mother, Leola Ginyard; his siblings, Darryl, Shawn, and Teeshawnia; and his former partner, Porshia Black, with whom he shared the joy of raising their children, Joshira, Jermiah, and Ainya. Garry's legacy continues with his 4 nephews, 8 nieces, and a great-niece, Chosen. His family also includes 5 uncles, 4 aunts, and a multitude of cousins and extended family members, along with countless friends who were touched by his genuine warmth and kindness. Garry spent his formative years in New York, where he embarked on his educational journey in Early Childhood Education. He later graduated from Independence High School in Charlotte, North Carolina, a milestone that laid the foundation for his hardworking nature. A dedicated employee of Lineage Company, Garry was known for his unwavering commitment and strong work ethic, traits that earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues. Beyond his professional life, Garry's passions ran deep. He found immense joy in raising XL Bullies, a pursuit that reflected his nurturing spirit and love for animals. His love for football was equally profound, and it was a sport he cherished throughout his life, often sharing his enthusiasm with friends and family. Garry's presence was a beacon of light in the lives of those who knew him. He possessed a unique ability to make others feel valued and loved, and his laughter was a source of comfort and joy. His memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. A celebration of Garry's life will be held on July 3, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the CME William Institute, located at 2239 7th Avenue. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor Garry's remarkable life and to share in the stories and memories that define his enduring legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Garry's memory to a charity of your choice, to continue his legacy of kindness and generosity. Garry Jay Ginyard's life was a testament to the power of love, resilience, and the indelible impact of a beautiful soul.
