GARRETT A. DECKER
September 7, 1957 — February 17, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Garrett A. Decker, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Gary, as he was affectionately known, left us on February 17, 2026, at Shannon Medical Center after enduring ongoing health issues with remarkable courage and grace. Born on September 7, 1957, in the serene landscapes of Warren County, Pennsylvania, Gary's life was a testament to love, laughter, and resilience.
Gary was the cherished son of Beatrice J. (Allio) and Henry Decker, who imbued him with qualities of kindness and strength that he carried throughout his life. He was predeceased by his first wife, Karen Cameron, and his nephew, Jeff Ditty, whose memories he carried close to his heart.
Gary's life was enriched by his beloved surviving wife, Becky Decker, who stood by his side, sharing a bond of deep affection and mutual respect. He was the proud father of two sons, Brian (Kynwyn) and Chad (Jen), and the loving stepfather to two bonus daughters, Rachel (Zac) and Ashley (Tyler), all residing in Pennsylvania. His legacy continues through his seven treasured grandchildren: Wyatt, Tessa, Mattie, Owen, Miles, Evangeline, and Charlotte, who brought endless joy and pride to his days.
A brother to James Decker (Bobbi Jo) and a sister to Arlene Stoyer from Texas, Gary's sense of family extended beyond blood, encompassing numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who became family over the years. Among these dear friends were Bill Caven and John Poth, longstanding companions from Pennsylvania who shared in countless adventures and heartfelt moments.
Gary's education journey took him through West Forest High School, where he forged friendships and developed interests that would last a lifetime. An avid outdoorsman, Gary found peace and fulfillment in hunting and fishing, activities that connected him to nature and provided cherished memories with family and friends. He loved the camaraderie of board games and card nights, where his competitive spirit was matched only by his laughter and warmth.
A private ceremony will be held to honor Gary's life and the indelible mark he left on those who knew him. Though he has departed from this world, his spirit lives on in the stories, smiles, and hearts of those he loved.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Gary's memory to a charity of choice, reflecting his generous nature and commitment to helping others.
Gary A. Decker's life was a tapestry of love, friendship, and adventure, woven together through shared experiences and memories. He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him. Rest in peace, dear Gary, in the eternal embrace of the heavens.
