In Loving Memory

Gail Ridley
April 20, 1953 — March 8, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gail Ridley, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, who peacefully departed this world on March 8, 2026, at the Theresa Dellar Palliative Care Centre. Born on April 20, 1953, in the vibrant city of Montreal, Quebec, Gail was a beacon of light and warmth, touching the lives of all who were privileged to know her.
Gail was the cherished daughter of Grant Ridley and Eileen Kelly, who both preceded her in death, along with her dear brother, Dale Ridley. Despite the loss, Gail's spirit remained resilient and unwavering, a testament to her enduring strength and love for her family.
Surviving Gail is her devoted daughter, Tammy, who was the center of her world. The bond they shared was one of unconditional love and mutual respect, a relationship that Gail nurtured with all her heart. Her legacy of love continues through her treasured grandchildren, Ryan (Ashley) and Leah, who brought immense joy and pride to her life. Gail took great delight in creating ceramics, crocheting, and engaging in various crafts with her grandchildren, moments that will forever be cherished.
Gail was a sister to Debbie (Andy), with whom she shared countless memories and a close-knit bond. Her niece Melanie (Sean) and nephew Patrick (Jessica) were also blessed by her love and wisdom. Gail's extended family included many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, chosen kin, cousins, and friends, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
Her love for music and dancing was infectious, and she relished any opportunity to celebrate life with family gatherings that overflowed with good food, laughter, and games. An avid movie watcher, Gail found joy in simple pleasures, like a day out at the cinema, where she could immerse herself in stories that captured her imagination.
Gail's personal qualities of warmth, kindness, and an unwavering devotion to her family shone brightly, even during her illness. She fought valiantly to spend every possible moment with her loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience.
In honoring Gail's life, the family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Dialysis Unit at the Lakeshore General Hospital. Their kindness and compassion toward Gail, especially in the days leading to her passing, were a source of comfort and peace. The family is deeply thankful to the entire team for making Gail feel loved and cared for.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Dialysis Unit at the Lakeshore Hospital, an organization close to Gail's heart, where she received exceptional care and support.
Gail Ridley will be remembered for her infectious laughter, her boundless love for her family, and her ability to make every moment count. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace, forever dancing among the stars.
