Gail Margaret Richardson
April 4, 1948 — July 3, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gail Margaret Richardson, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left this world peacefully on July 3, 2026, at her cherished home, surrounded by those she loved. Born on April 4, 1948, in the beautiful city of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Gail was the cherished daughter of Harold and Isabell Laphen.
Gail was a woman of immense warmth and kindness, known for her ability to make everyone feel welcome. Her home was always open, a nurturing haven filled with the tantalizing aroma of her amazing cooking. She found joy in gathering friends and family, weaving a tapestry of love and laughter through shared meals and heartfelt conversations.
On February 22, 1967, Gail married the love of her life, Thomas Paul Richardson, affectionately known as Paul. Together, they built a life centered around their shared values of love, family, and hospitality. Their union was blessed with two wonderful children, Stephen and Kimberlea, to whom Gail was a devoted and nurturing mother. Her life's work was her family, to whom she dedicated her heart and soul, always present and supportive in their lives.
Gail's legacy extends to her six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who were a source of immense pride and joy. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family, who will forever cherish the memories of her love and guidance.
Though Gail took on various jobs throughout her life, her true career was the loving and unwavering support she provided to her family. Her gentle spirit and steadfast presence were the anchors of her family's life, and her nurturing nature left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
In addition to her cherished family, Gail was predeceased by her husband Paul, and her beloved parents, Harold and Isabell. While we mourn their absence, we find solace in knowing that they are reunited once more.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Maplestone Enhanced Care, particularly those in the Ringdale unit, who provided Gail with compassionate care and treated her with the dignity and love she so deserved in her final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, as a tribute to Gail's generous spirit and her commitment to helping others.
Gail Margaret Richardson was a beacon of love and warmth, whose life was a testament to the power of kindness and family. As we bid farewell, we hold her memory close, finding comfort in the legacy of love she leaves behind.
