Gail Blackburn (née Evers), a beacon of love and warmth, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on October 7, 1950, in the quaint town of Coggon, Iowa, Gail was the cherished daughter of Bernard and Maxine Evers, who instilled in her the values of kindness and resilience that she carried throughout her life.
Gail's journey was a tapestry woven with love, family, and enduring friendships. She was united in marriage to Randall Blackburn on December 8, 1973, in Denver, Colorado. Together, they built a life filled with laughter and shared dreams, a testament to their unwavering bond of 52 remarkable years.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Gail's heart overflowed with pride and joy for her children, Ryan Blackburn and Becky Cash. Her love extended further to her grandchildren, Kylee Cash, Mais Cash, and Ella Weisenburg, and embraced her great-grandchildren, Urijah, Ezra, August, Navy, and Kate. Her family was her greatest achievement, and she nurtured them with boundless affection and support.
Gail's professional life was marked by her 30-year tenure at Target, where she excelled as a Team Lead across various departments. Colleagues became friends, and those friendships blossomed through countless gatherings and activities. Her positivity and caring nature left an indelible mark on everyone she worked with.
Her generosity of spirit was evident in her community involvement, particularly her dedication to the Girl Scouts. For several years, Gail assisted her daughter in leading a troop at Bristol Elementary in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Her commitment to empowering young girls was a reflection of her belief in the importance of nurturing future generations.
Gail was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Bernard and Maxine, and her dear sister, Lori Hardy. While we mourn the loss of her presence, we find solace in the legacy of love and kindness she leaves behind.
In honoring Gail's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Gail's memory, supporting a cause close to her heart.
