Gail Ann Brown
February 22, 1948 — June 1, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gail Ann Brown, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Gail left this world peacefully on June 1, 2026, at the age of 78, surrounded by her loving family in Katy, Texas. Her gentle spirit and warm heart touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Gail was born on February 22, 1948, in Middletown, Ohio, to John William Evans and Delores Huffman. She spent her formative years in Middletown before moving to Katy, Texas, where she found her true home and community. A proud graduate of Hiddletown High School, Gail's adventurous spirit and love for connecting with people led her to a fulfilling 30-year career as a flight attendant with Delta Airlines. Her grace and kindness were evident to all who flew with her, and she retired knowing she had made a difference in countless lives.
In 1972, Gail married the love of her life, Bill Brown, on a beautiful June day at the Methodist Church in Houston. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Gail's favorite moments were those spent with her family, especially her cherished daughter, Brittany Hay, and her son-in-law, Steven Hay. Her grandsons, Colin and Evan, were the light of her life, and she took immense joy in watching them grow.
Gail had a passionate love for crafting and could often be found with a puzzle or Sudoku book in hand. Her favorite color, red, matched the vibrancy and warmth she exuded. After retirement, Gail's zest for life took her, Bill, and Brittany on road trips across the country to explore the beauty of national parks. Yosemite, with its majestic landscapes, held a special place in her heart. Gail also found joy in the cold, crisp air of Montana while snow skiing, a testament to her adventurous spirit.
Gail was a gentle soul, kind to everyone she met, and loved by all. Her warmth and compassionate nature left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. She is survived by her devoted husband Bill, her daughter Brittany and son-in-law Steven, her adored grandsons Colin and Evan, and her sisters Karen Wenzel, Ciney Clark, and Gwen Copeland. Her family and friends will forever cherish the memories and love she leaves behind.
A celebration of Gail's life will be held at 10:00 AM on June 8, 2026, at Schmidt Funeral Home, located at 1344 West Grand Parkway South, Katy, TX 77494. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor the life of a truly remarkable woman who brought so much joy and warmth to the world.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Gail's memory to a charity of your choice, as a testament to her generous spirit and love for helping others.
Gail Ann Brown's legacy of love, kindness, and adventure will continue to inspire all who knew her. Though she may have left this world, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched.
