Gabriele Nieves-Osmun

September 10, 1956 — July 18, 2026

It is with deep sadness and gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Gabriele Nieves-Osmun on July 18, 2026. Born on September 10, 1956, in Cabot, Arkansas, Gabriele was a beacon of love and strength to all who knew her. Gabriele was the beloved wife of John Elwood Osmun, with whom she shared 41 years of a beautiful marriage filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Her journey in life was marked by her deep compassion, open-hearted nature, and her relentless drive to accomplish anything she set her mind to. Her sweet, caring, and passionate demeanor left a lasting impact on everyone she encountered. A proud veteran, Gabriele dedicated over 22 years of her life to serving her country in the United States Air Force. Her military career was a testament to her strength, dedication, and selfless service. Her love extended beyond her family and friends who were lucky enough to share her life. Gabriele was an avid animal lover, and her home was always filled with the joyful presence of her beloved dogs, Daizy, Walnut, and Blanca, as well as her many cherished cats. We take solace in imagining her reunited with all the four-legged friends who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge before her. Gabriele's legacy lives on through her loving family, including her mother, Inge Schafer, and her brothers, Ricky, Rene, and Jeff Elia. She leaves behind 11 adored grandchildren; Sam, Devin, Aaliyah, Terjun, Camron, Alexander, Elliot, Frankie, Sylas, Gabriella, and Tonan who will carry forward her spirit and zest for life. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Gabriele’s extended family and countless dear friends will cherish her memory and the many ways she has touched their lives. A service to honor Gabriele's remarkable life and service will be held on August 28, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, located at 1501 W Maryland Ave, North Little Rock, AR 72120. We invite all who knew and loved her to join us in celebrating her life and the indelible mark she left on this world. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the love and support they have received during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a donation in Gabriele's memory to an animal rescue organization or charity close to their hearts, reflecting her enduring love for animals and people. Gabriele will forever remain in our hearts, her memory a guiding light for those she leaves behind. "Forever In Our Hearts!"
