Born on September 27, 1926, in Romania, Fred—known for his warmth, resilience, and unyielding spirit—spent his life touching the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Fred's journey through life was marked by a deep love and partnership, most notably with his beloved wife, Lili Irene Mai, whom he married on March 25, 1950, in England. Their union was a testament to enduring love and companionship, and together they created a beautiful family and a legacy that will continue to honor their memory. Lili predeceased Fred, leaving a space that was lovingly filled by the memories of their time together. Fred is survived by his cherished daughters, Susan Zwick (married to Robert) and Katy Connelly (married to Kenneth). His legacy of kindness and strength is carried forward by his six grandchildren: Kenneth, Kristine (Joe), and Kemp Connelly; Kara Paes Monteiro (married to Fábio); Renae Zwick (Bryan); and Stephanie Zwick (Kyle). The light of Fred's life further extends to his three great-grandchildren: Lili, Oliver, and Violeta Paes Monteiro. Each of them carries a part of Fred's spirit, ensuring that his love and values continue to thrive in future generations. A celebration of Fred's life will be held at 4:00 PM on August 21, 2026, at the Greenfields of Geneva, located at 0N801 Friendship Way, Geneva, IL. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance, sharing stories and memories that highlight the remarkable life Fred led. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in honor of Fred's generous and compassionate nature.
