Freeda Louella Kinard Crawford

February 4, 1935 — October 2, 2026

Freeda Louella Kinard Crawford peacefully transitioned from this world on October 2, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on February 4, 1935, she was a cherished daughter of James Carl Kinard and Eula Ivy Kinard. Freeda's life was a testament to grace, love, and unwavering faith. Freeda spent her early years in Louisville, where she graduated from Louisville High School. It was here that she began to cultivate the values and skills that would shape her journey through life. On September 4, 1955, she married the love of her life, Reverend Edward Franklin Crawford, with whom she shared a deep and abiding partnership until his passing. Her career was marked by dedication and diligence, beginning with her role at the Forestry Department at Mississippi State University and continuing at Deltawood Forest Products. Freeda ultimately retired from Monticello Forest Products, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment. A devoted member of the New Hebron Methodist Church, Freeda's faith was at the core of her existence. She was actively involved in the church community, always eager to lend a hand and offer support to those in need. Her love for God was matched only by her love for her family and friends, whom she cherished deeply. Freeda had a passion for gardening, finding joy in nurturing both vegetable and flower gardens. Her green thumb and nurturing spirit were evident in the vibrant blooms and bountiful harvests she lovingly tended to. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Reverend Edward Franklin Crawford, her parents, and her great-grandson Timothy Holiday, as well as her grandson-in-law Lance Russell. Freeda leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor her memory: her daughters Sharon (Danny) Burnham, Wanda McNerney, and Dawn Cody. She was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, sharing her wisdom and warmth with each new generation. Her family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Castlewoods Place for the exceptional love and care provided to Freeda in her final days. A celebration of Freeda's life will be held on October 4, 2026, at 1:30 PM at the New Hebron Methodist Church, located on Main Street in New Hebron, Mississippi.
