With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Frederick Jay Tyson, fondly known to many as Junior, who departed this life on September 16, 2026. Born on January 31, 1976, in Boston, Massachusetts, Junior was a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Junior was the beloved son of the late Frederick Jay Tyson and Shelia Tyson, and the grandson of the late Grace Braxton. He is survived by his devoted siblings Shameca Tyson, Tameka Tyson, Myketrail Tyson, and Etrail Tyson, who will continue to honor his memory. He was also a proud uncle to a host of nieces and nephews, whose lives he enriched with his love and guidance.
Junior was a man of deep faith and a devoted member of On A Mission True Holiness Church, where he was known for his unwavering spirit and generous heart. His laughter, wisdom, and compassion were a beacon of light to those who knew him, and his legacy of love and kindness will endure in the hearts of his family and friends.
A celebration of Junior's life will be held on September 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at On A Mission True Holiness Church, located at 471 River Street, Mattapan, Massachusetts, 02126. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring his remarkable life and to share in the memories and stories that made Junior so beloved.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in Junior's honor to a charity of your choice, reflecting the generosity and compassion that Junior embodied throughout his life.
