Frederick Brooling

Frederick Brooling, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on September 23, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on December 1, 1940, in the picturesque town of Port Townsend, Washington, Frederick was the beloved son of August and Beatrice Brooling.
Frederick was preceded in death by his dear parents, brothers David, Larry, Gary, and Gerald, sister Sandy, and his beloved son, Michael David. He is survived by his devoted wife, Diane, with whom he shared over 40 years of marriage, his loving son Frederick Jr., cherished daughter Bonita, and his treasured grandson, Frederick III. Frederick also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends who will miss him dearly.
A dedicated and hardworking man, Frederick began his long career at Crown Zellerbach, now known as Port Townsend Paper Company, at the tender age of 19. Over the course of 44 years, he worked in various departments, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues and ultimately achieving the title of Electrical & Instrument Department Supervisor before his retirement in 2004.
Frederick was a man of many talents and passions. A self-taught mechanic, he had a lifelong love for working on cars, hotrods, and Harley Davidson motorcycles. As a proud Northwesterner, Frederick reveled in the great outdoors, enjoying activities such as fishing, crabbing, clamming, and hunting elk and deer. His adventurous spirit led him and Diane on extensive travels over the last 30-plus years, from thrilling motorcycle journeys to Sturgis, North Dakota, to exploring the beauty of Hawaii, the Eastern United States, and the enchanting landscapes of Europe, with Italy and Spain holding special places in their hearts.
Frederick's journey through life was marked by his deep love for his family, his unwavering loyalty to friends, and his boundless curiosity and zest for adventure. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the memories he created with those he loved.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Frederick's memory to a charity of your choice. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have supported them during this difficult time. Frederick will be dearly missed, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
