In Loving Memory

Freda Hay Hubbard
March 5, 1949 — May 21, 2026
Today we mourn the passing of a beloved family member, Freda Hay Hubbard. Freda was born on March 5, 1949 to parents Fred and Essie Hay in Dickenson County, VA. She grew up with siblings Richard Hayes, Barbara Turner, Zella Woods, Sylvia Murphy, Patsy Newell, Sarah Rose, Katie Huss, Freddie Hays, and Thomas Hay.
Throughout her life, Freda enjoyed participating with her children in all of their activities as they grew up and spending time with them and her grandchildren when they became adults. She loved the ocean, flower gardening, reading, and traveling. She was employed by the Federal Government for over 20’years but her children always came first. She put her career on hold to be home with her children during the years they needed her most. Freda had a strong sense of family and a great sense of responsibility toward her children’s happiness, health, and success in life
People who knew her describe her as compassionate and caring. Freda had a kind heart that was always open to anyone who needed help or just someone to listen. She was always generous, helping others even at times when she was going through a hard time herself. She especially enjoyed helping her little nephews and nieces as they grew up.
Freda brought much joy to our lives. She was always willing to help out whenever needed. We will miss her presence in our lives.
We are deeply saddened by this loss. We remember the beautiful person , and the loving mother that she was. We take solace in knowing that she is now at peace. Rest in peace, Freda . You will be dearly missed by all who knew you.
