It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the peaceful passing of Frazier Kidd, who departed this world at his home on June 8, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on August 31, 1942, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to George Washington Kidd and Sallie Moore, Frazier grew up in a family rich with love and values that would guide him throughout his life.
Frazier was a dedicated and loving husband to Deborah Moore, whom he married on December 15, 1970, in Birmingham, Alabama. Their union was blessed with a beautiful daughter, D’Anntoinette Johnson. His legacy lives on through her and his five cherished grandchildren: Terrance (Dave) Wright, Maurice (Kalashia) Johnson, Dante Johnson, Cameron Johnson, and Jenae Johnson, all residing in Birmingham, AL. His family was his pride and joy, and he spent countless cherished moments with his grandchildren, imparting wisdom and humor that will be remembered for generations.
A graduate of Jackson High School in Jackson, Alabama, Frazier was a man of immense dedication and work ethic. He served diligently as a water mechanic for the Birmingham Water Works Board, where he contributed 40 years of service. His commitment and integrity left an indelible mark on his colleagues and the community he served so faithfully.
Frazier was deeply rooted in his faith and was an active member of the Oak Baptist Church of Birmingham, Alabama. His involvement in the church was a testament to his unwavering faith and his desire to serve others. He was known for his gentle nature, his kind heart, and his readiness to lend a hand to those in need.
Family was at the center of Frazier's world. He leaves behind his daughter, D’Anntoinette Johnson, and his beloved grandchildren. His siblings, George Eddie Kidd of Birmingham, AL, Eddie (Roberta) Kidd of Cincinnati, OH, Wash Kidd of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Dorothy Kidd of Cincinnati, OH, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends, mourn his loss but celebrate the life of a man who touched so many lives with his kindness and generosity.
Frazier was predeceased by his parents, George Washington Kidd and Sallie Moore, who now welcome him into eternal rest.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the medical teams at Princeton Baptist Health, as well as Davenport & Harris Funeral Home and Walkers Funeral Home, for their compassionate care and support during this difficult time.
In accordance with Frazier's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor his life and legacy. Although he may have left this earthly realm, Frazier's spirit, love, and laughter will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Oak Baptist Church in memory of Frazier Kidd, to continue his legacy of faith and service.
May his soul rest in peace and his memory be a blessing to us all.
