Franklin was born on July 13, 1940, in the United States, and his life was a testament to resilience, friendship, and unwavering kindness. Franklin was the beloved son of Kaylee and Thomas James, who predeceased him. He was also preceded in death by his cherished son, Brandon James, and his dear wife, Emily James, who passed away in 2010. Franklin served his country with honor in the Army. After his military service, he dedicated himself to a career with a trucking company, where his hard work and dedication were admired by colleagues and clients alike. His love for sports, especially football, basketball, and baseball, was well known. Franklin's enthusiasm for these games was not just about the sport itself but also about the camaraderie and community it fostered. His passion for sports mirrored his approach to life—full of energy, teamwork, and joy. Franklin's best friend, Weston Mckenzie, along with his family members Benjamin, James, and Jacob James, will forever hold him in their hearts. Franklin's capacity for friendship was boundless; he was a best friend to many and a steadfast companion in both good times and bad. In 2023, Franklin was diagnosed with cancer. Despite the challenges he faced, he remained a pillar of strength and compassion, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him. His illness was met with bravery and dignity, and he continued to fight with grace until the very end. The family will hold a service to honor Franklin's life on October 16, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Weston Mckenzie. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Franklin's memory, reflecting his generous spirit and commitment to helping others. Franklin James was a remarkable person whose warmth and loyalty touched the lives of many. His legacy of love, friendship, and perseverance will remain with us forever.
