Frank Richardson

Born on January 14, 1950, in Baltimore, Maryland, Frank was a beacon of artistic talent and kindness, known for his gentle spirit and profound dedication to the arts. Frank was the beloved son of the late Frank A. Richardson Sr. and Virginia Sadie Richardson, and brother to the late David Dorman. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Eleanor A. Cawthorne, his cherished youngest son, Gregory Richardson, and his loving niece, April C. Stevenson. His family and friends were the heart of his world, and he cherished each moment spent with them. A proud graduate of Frederick Douglas High School in Baltimore, Frank furthered his passion for art at the Maryland Institute Of Art (MICA), where he obtained a degree that would fuel a lifelong career as a celebrated artist. Frank's artistic contributions have left an indelible mark on his community, most notably through the large exterior mural gracing the wall of the Enoch Pratt Library in the Penn North neighborhood. His work, both sold and displayed, was admired for its vibrant expression and heartfelt narrative. Throughout his life, Frank balanced his creative endeavors with a career that saw him working diligently in various capacities, including his final and fulfilling role at The Towson Town Center in Towson, Maryland. There, he found joy in serving others, touching the lives of many with his warmth and generosity. Frank's love for the arts extended beyond his professional life; he was an avid jazz enthusiast and found peace in the wonders of nature and the divine. His appreciation for life’s beauty was shared with his longtime best friend and fellow artist, Bert, with whom he spent countless hours creating and sharing dreams. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Frank's caregivers, friends, and the dedicated staff who provided him with exceptional care and companionship in his later years. Their support was a source of great comfort and joy to Frank and his family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank's memory may be made to an organization supporting the arts or a charity of one’s choice, continuing his legacy of creativity and compassion. Frank Richardson will be deeply missed but remembered with love and admiration by all who knew him. His legacy will live on in the vibrant colors of his artwork and the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to experience his warmth and kindness.
