Frank Peters, a beacon of warmth and humor, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026, at the age of 92, with his beloved wife, Joy, by his side. Born on June 9, 1933, in Minneapolis, MN, Frank's life was a testament to love, family, and service. Frank was the cherished son of Frank Sr. and Ina Peters. He grew up in Minneapolis, where he developed a passion for music and sports. He graduated from Patrick Henry High School in 1957, where he was not only remembered for his academic pursuits but also for his infectious laugh and approachable nature. Frank's life was enriched by his service to his country. He served honorably in both the Army and Navy from 1953 to 1957. His time in the military was marked by dedication and camaraderie, qualities that he carried with him throughout his life. On October 19, 1957, Frank married the love of his life, Joy St. John, in Pensacola, FL. Their marriage was a beautiful partnership rooted in mutual respect and endless love, spanning an incredible 68 years. Together, they built a family that became the center of Frank's world. Frank was a devoted father to his son, Jay, and daughter, Jill, and a proud grandfather to his three grandchildren: Madeleine, Matthew, and the late Amy. His legacy extends to his three great-grandchildren, Zoe and Isabel Christmas, and Shad Deal Jr., who brought him immense joy and laughter. For 25 years, Frank worked with dedication at the State of Minnesota Employment Service. His colleagues and clients alike cherished him for his reliability and ability to bring light-heartedness to the workplace. A man of many talents, Frank was a 33rd level Mason and an active member of the Scottish Rite Masonic Temple in Wayzata. His passion for music led him to join the Minnesota Musician's Union, where he played drums and banjo, sharing his love for music with many. Frank also found joy in coaching baseball, where his playful spirit and encouraging words inspired many young athletes. Frank is predeceased by his brother, David, and his granddaughter, Amy. His memory will forever be cherished by his surviving family and friends, who will remember him for his silly sense of humor, his approachable demeanor, and his unwavering reliability. A service to celebrate Frank's life will be held on May 19, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Washburn McReavy, located at 1400 Main St, Hopkins, MN 55343. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a life well-lived and to share stories that highlight the joy Frank brought into the world. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Frank's memory to a charity of your choice that supports veterans or musicians, causes that were close to his heart. Frank Peters will forever be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, doting grandfather, and great-grandfather, as well as a friend to many. His spirit will continue to resonate in the love he shared and the laughter he inspired.
