Frank Peters
June 9, 1933 — April 20, 2026
Frank Peters, a beloved husband, cherished father, and esteemed member of his community, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026, with his devoted wife Joy by his side. Born on June 9, 1933, in Minneapolis, MN, Frank lived a life filled with love, laughter, and service to others.
The son of Frank Sr. and Ina Peters, Frank grew up in a household where values of kindness and hard work were instilled from an early age. He graduated from Patrick Henry High School in 1957, shortly after completing his honorable service in both the United States Army and Navy from 1953 to 1957—a testament to his dedication and patriotism.
In 1957, Frank married the love of his life, Joy St. John, in Pensacola, FL. Their remarkable union spanned 68 years, a partnership marked by unwavering support and shared adventures. Together, they built a family filled with warmth and joy, raising two children, Jay and Jill, who were the pride of his life.
Frank's career with the State of Minnesota Employment Service spanned 25 fulfilling years. Known for his approachability and reliability, he touched many lives, always offering a helping hand and a silly joke to lighten the mood. His colleagues and clients alike were drawn to his genuine nature and steadfast commitment to serving others.
A man of diverse talents, Frank was a gifted musician, an avid drummer and banjo player, and a dedicated member of the Minnesota Musician's Union. His passion for music was only rivaled by his love for baseball, which he shared as a coach, inspiring young players with his enthusiasm and sportsmanship.
Frank was a proud 33rd level Mason and an active member of the Scottish Rite Masonic Temple in Wayzata. These affiliations were not just a testament to his dedication to these organizations but also an expression of his belief in the values of brotherhood and charity.
He leaves behind a rich legacy through his family: his loving wife Joy, his son Jay, his daughter Jill, his grandchildren Madeleine and Matthew, and his great-grandchildren Zoe and Isabel Christmas, and Shad Deal Jr. Frank is predeceased by his brother David and his precious granddaughter Amy, whom he now joins in eternal peace.
Frank's life will be celebrated on May 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Washburn McReavy, located at 1400 Main St, Hopkins, MN 55343. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of a man who lived life with a full heart and an open spirit.
In his passing, Frank leaves behind not just a family who adored him, but a community that admired and respected him. His silly sense of humor, his compassionate spirit, and his unwavering reliability will be dearly missed, but never forgotten. As we remember Frank, let us carry forward his legacy of love, laughter, and service to others.
