Frank John Sedlasek
December 9, 1943 — May 12, 2026
Frank John Sedlasek, a man of unwavering resilience, profound love, and genuine kindness, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 12, 2026, at the age of 82. Born in the picturesque town of Maribor, Slovenia, on December 9, 1943, Frank's journey through life was one marked by courage, determination, and a boundless affection for those he held dear.
Frank was the cherished son of Frank and Mary Sedlasek, who, along with his beloved sister Irene Pecaric, have predeceased him. He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Lois (Longar), who stood steadfastly by his side, sharing in a love that was as enduring as it was profound. Together, they built a family that became the cornerstone of their lives. Frank is also survived by his daughters, Nancy (Walter) Magiera and Debbie (Rich) Myszynski, who carry his legacy in their hearts. His grandchildren, Breanna, Maddie, and Dylan, were the pride and joy of his life, and he was a beloved uncle to John, Diane, Rob, Cindy, and Rose.
In 1963, Frank answered the call to serve his country with honor and distinction in the United States Marine Corps. Rising to the rank of Sergeant, he fought bravely in the Vietnam War, earning an Air Medal with seven stars, a National Defense Service Medal, a Vietnamese Service Medal with two stars, a Bronze Star, a Combat Aircrew Insignia with three stars, a Sharpshooter Rifle Medal, and a Good Conduct Medal. His military service was a testament to his character and his unwavering dedication to duty and country.
After his service, Frank channeled his tenacity and entrepreneurial spirit into the tool and die casting manufacturing and technology industries. As his own boss, he embarked on several successful business ventures, leaving a lasting impact on all who worked alongside him. Frank's generosity and willingness to help others were legendary, and he imparted these values to his family, instilling in them a strong sense of integrity and compassion.
Frank was not only a man of action but also one of warmth and humor. With a wit that was as sharp as his mind, he had an innate ability to make those around him feel welcomed and cherished. No guest ever left his home hungry or thirsty, as he and Lois made hospitality a hallmark of their lives together.
An active member of the Veterans group and a founding member of the Arlington Ridge Memorial Group, Frank's commitment to his fellow servicemen and women was unwavering. His dedication to honoring those who served was a reflection of his deep respect for sacrifice and service.
Frank's life will be celebrated at a service on May 26, 2026, at 2:30 PM at the Florida National Cemetery, located at 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513. It is here, amid the hallowed grounds, that we will gather to honor a life well-lived and to say farewell to a man who touched the lives of so many.
Though Frank's journey on this earth has come to an end, the love he shared, the values he imparted, and the memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were privileged to know him. He was a man of remarkable character, whose legacy is woven into the fabric of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the indelible mark he left upon this world.
