In Loving Memory

Frank J. Devine
September 2, 1935 — May 14, 2026
It is with profound sadness yet immense gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Frank J. Devine. Born on September 2, 1935, in the charming city of Hamilton, Ontario, Frank departed this world peacefully on May 14, 2026, at the age of 90.
Frank was the cherished son of John and Florence Devine, who instilled in him the values of integrity, perseverance, and kindness. He was preceded in death by his loving parents and two devoted wives, Roberta (Bobbie) Devine and Charlene Bessey Devine, who were both significant parts of Frank's journey through life.
Frank's career was defined by his dedication and expertise as a sales director at Stronberg Carlson. His work in Central Office telecom equipment was more than just a profession; it was where he honed his skills and built lifelong friendships. Frank's professional life was marked by a commitment to excellence and a genuine eagerness to help others succeed.
Beyond his career, Frank was a passionate golfer and a long-standing member of the Elgin Country Club for over four decades. It was on these verdant fairways that he met Charlene Bessey, who would become his second beloved wife. Frank's enthusiasm for golf was infectious, and he shared countless memorable rounds and laughs with his sons, Robert and Darryl, during their many golfing vacations in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Indiana. These trips were not just about the game but about the bonds strengthened and the memories created.
Frank's legacy lives on in his two sons, Robert (Deanna) Devine and Darryl Devine, who carry forward his love for family and tradition. His sister Jean (Bob) Swim, brother Jack (Ellen) Devine, and sister Joyce (Jack) Davis will forever hold dear the moments shared with their beloved brother.
A proud grandfather, Frank doted on his grandchildren and was blessed to witness the joys of being a great-grandfather to two spirited great-grandchildren. These young lives were touched by his wisdom and warmth, ensuring that his influence and values will continue for generations.
Frank's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and friendship. He touched the lives of all who knew him with his gentle spirit, infectious smile, and unwavering generosity. His departure leaves a void that will be felt deeply, but his memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to those he leaves behind.
In celebrating Frank's life, we invite friends and family to join us in remembering a man who truly lived life to the fullest, cherishing every moment with those he loved. A memorial service will be held at a later date, where stories, laughter, and tears will flow as we honor the remarkable life of Frank J. Devine.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to a charity close to Frank's heart, ensuring his legacy of kindness and compassion endures.
