Frank David Donchez Jr
January 10, 1952 — October 10, 2026
It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of Frank David Donchez Jr, a beloved husband, stepfather, cherished friend, and pillar of his community. David departed this world on October 10, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and dedication. He was born on January 10, 1952, in Bangor, Maine, to his mother Barbra Donchez, who, along with his sisters Ann and Grechen, has predeceased him.
David's life was a rich tapestry of relationships and achievements. He found his soulmate in Susan Donchez, whom he married on November 2, 1988, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together, they shared an extraordinary journey of love and companionship for 37 remarkable years. His family circle includes his devoted stepdaughter, Shelly Bentley, and his "second" mom, Sigi Schon, as well as his treasured friends Darren Rice, Bruce Bullock, his brother-in-law Rick "Bubba" Plair and his wife Edna, and Andrew Treece, who remained close to his heart.
A proud alumnus of Bangor High School, David pursued his passion for understanding the human mind by studying Psychology at the University of Maine. His career was as diverse as his interests, spanning from car sales to restaurant management. However, his true calling was in the recreational marine industry. In the Houston area, he established the Gulf Coast Boating Center, and his dedication saw him rise to become a dealer and representative for renowned brands like Sunsation Powerboats and Oceans Express. His friendship with Darren Rice led them to co-found Texas Law Shield (now US Law Shield), where David's leadership and vision elevated him to the position of Vice President, a role he held with distinction until his passing.
David was not only a successful businessman but also a dedicated community figure. His memberships included the Masons, Shriners, and he was an honorary constable and firefighter. At Grace Community Church, he served faithfully as an usher, and his contributions to the Boating Trades of Metropolitan Houston were significant, serving first as Vice President and then as President, tirelessly working to enhance the industry he loved.
Known for his infectious laugh and larger-than-life presence, David's generosity knew no bounds. He was a man of countless hobbies, from playing the drums to boating, and he delighted in spending time with friends and family. His charitable spirit touched many, as he supported the Shriners Hospital, the SPCA, and anyone in need.
A service to celebrate David's remarkable life will be held on October 21, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Cashner Funeral Home, located at 801 Teas Rd, Conroe, TX 77303. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in honor of David's giving nature.
David's light will forever shine in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. His love, loyalty, and honesty will be remembered and cherished always.
In lieu of flowers, the family of Frank David Donchez Jr welcomes donations to a charity, nonprofit, church, or organization of your choosing.
