Frank Briggs Sr.

August 2, 1949 — February 24, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Frank Briggs Sr., who left this world on February 24, 2026, at the age of 76. Frank was born on August 2, 1949, in Steubenville, Ohio, to Harry Robert Briggs and Marylou Gassner, who predeceased him. His life was a testament to resilience, dedication, and the quiet strength of a man who spoke volumes with few words. Frank's life was a tapestry of love and adventure, most beautifully shared with his beloved wife, Patti. Their marriage, which spanned an inspiring 57 years, was a beacon of devotion and companionship. Together, they built a legacy of love and family, which includes their cherished children, Frank Jr. with his wife Tracy, and Jodi with her husband Jason Whitley. Frank's sister, Barbara Koltz, and her husband Michael, also hold dear the memories of a brother who was as steadfast as he was strong. A man of grit and determination, Frank channeled his industrious spirit into owning and operating B&W Supply, a heavy equipment company that stood as a testament to his hard work and entrepreneurial spirit. Beyond his career, Frank's passion for life was vividly expressed in his love for racing cars. He wasn't just a spectator at the local circle track in Auburndale; he was a part of the race, owning Adam Briggs Racing and igniting the same passion in his family. Frank's hands were not only skilled in business but also in the art of woodworking. His creations, especially the lovingly crafted toy boxes for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, were more than just wood and nails; they were tokens of love that will be treasured for generations. His adventurous spirit led him to travel extensively, often with family in tow, whether it was to their cherished cabin in Tennessee, on a cruise, or to the far-off locales of Hawaii and London. Despite his rough and gruff exterior, Frank's presence was deeply felt in the lives of those he touched. He was a man who chose his words carefully, but when he spoke, those around him listened with rapt attention, knowing the weight of wisdom behind his brevity. A tough guy with a tender heart, Frank's legacy is one of strength, love, and the enduring bonds of family. Frank Briggs Sr. leaves behind a loving family who will carry forward the values and lessons he imparted. His grandchildren, Adam (with wife Amber), Zach (with wife Whitney), Mandi Robinson (with husband Edgar Rubio), and Marissa Rolland (with husband Travis), along with his ten great-grandchildren, will forever hold dear the memories of a grandfather whose love was as vast as his adventures. A service to honor Frank's life will be held on February 27, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Whidden McLean Funeral Home in Bartow. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a man whose life was a remarkable journey of love, strength, and quiet wisdom. Frank's memory will forever remain a guiding light in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest in eternal peace, knowing he was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
