Francisco Valenzuela Sr., a beloved father, grandfather, and community member, passed away peacefully at his home on September 24, 2026. Born on April 12, 1956, in Scottsdale, Arizona, Francisco was nurtured by the loving guidance of his parents, Lorenzo and Guillerma Valenzuela. He grew up surrounded by his siblings - Manuel, Sabino, Isabel, and now predeceased sisters: Inez, Petra, Lena, and Mary, who all shared in the laughter and warmth of their family home.
Francisco spent his career as a forklift driver, contributing to numerous warehouses with his reliable and steadfast work ethic. Beyond his professional endeavors, Francisco was an active participant in the Pascua Yaqui ceremonies in Guadalupe. He was deeply committed to his roles as an Elder Matachin and Fariseo, where he passed down traditions and crafted ceremonial coronas, wahis, and Palmas for younger Matachinis. His involvement in these sacred duties was a testament to his love for his culture and his desire to preserve its rich heritage.
Throughout his life, Francisco was known for his friendly, caring nature. He had an infectious laugh and a penchant for humor, traits that endeared him to everyone he encountered. His ability to connect with people from all walks of life made him a cherished friend and confidant.
Francisco's life was enriched by the love and partnership he shared with his late wife, Anita Valenzuela. Together, they raised six wonderful children: Francisco Jr., Bonifacio Sr., Maria, Leticia, Guillerma, and Dahlia. His legacy extends to his 21 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life and whom he adored beyond measure.
A devoted family man, Francisco took pleasure in the simple joys of life, such as going for walks. These moments offered him peace and reflection, allowing him to appreciate the beauty of the world around him.
A service to honor Francisco’s life will be held on October 16, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the Santa Lucia Temple in Guadalupe, Arizona. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate the life of a man who touched so many hearts.
Francisco Valenzuela Sr.'s life was a testament to love, laughter, and dedication. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
